Dr Melissa Antoniou-Kourounioti is the Network & Partnerships Manager for the Food Safety Research Network, hosted at the Quadram Institute. Her role is to support the network’s success by attracting new members, facilitating fruitful communication between members, and enabling impactful collaborations in the field of food safety.
Melissa grew up on Crete, Greece and moved to London to pursue her fascination in genetics and molecular biology at King’s College. After a master’s on developmental biology in Nottingham and a PhD on cell biology at Cambridge, she moved to Norwich to work as a PostDoc at UEA looking at cardiac development in chicken embryos. Melissa then moved to the Quadram Institute to pursue a career in science administration.
