After obtaining her PhD degree studying host-microbe interaction in Lactobacillus at Wageningen University & Research, Jolanda has worked in both pharma and food industry. In her current role as senior project manager at NIZO, Jolanda is involved in a wide range of R&D projects related to the application of microorganisms in food and health. Her expertise and passion lie in pre-, pro-, syn-, and postbiotics, gut microbiome, molecular biology, and fermentation research and development. Furthermore, she is well-versed in projects handling the data related to these areas of expertise, by the implementation of bioinformatics, data streamlining, and machine learning.
