Graduated in industrial biology engineering and holding a doctorate in systems biology applied to microbial ecology obtained at the University of Luxembourg in 2013, Hugo developed methodologies for integrated multi-omic analyzes of complex microbial consortia applied to the treatment of wastewater and the production of biofuel. He then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Microbial Ecology and Technology in Ghent (Belgium) where he developed methodologies for the characterization of microbial communities by metagenomic to optimize fermentation processes. Before joining Lesaffre, Hugo was operational manager of high-throughput next generation sequencing of the quantitative metagenomics platform at the MetaGenoPolis Unit, center of metagenomics expertise in human and animal gut microbiome research of INRAE in Jouy-en-Josas (France).Since 2020, Hugo has joined the Lesaffre entity, a global player in fermentation, in the Discovery, Front-End Innovation and Category Defense team as senior microbiome scientist to stimulate innovation related to nutrition and health. Since mars 2024 Hugo as been promoted as Microbiome Program Coordinator
