Cecilia McAleavey, Director of Sustainable Eating and Public Affairs at Oatly, is a committed spokesperson on sustainable food systems and plant-based diets to tackle climate change.

Cecilia has considerable experience working on sustainability and communication in different sectors. She is driven by a desire to make a difference, and throughout her career has taken on roles to achieve impact on subjects close to her heart. Cecilia started her career as a journalist before moving to work at the European Commission, first in overseas development cooperation before joining the Cabinet of European Commissioner for the Environment Margot Wallström in 2000. After then working at Lund University and the University Hospital of Malmö heading up the communication departments, Cecilia held the position of Sustainability Director at the Nordic food company Orkla. She joined Oatly in 2016.

Cecilia has been instrumental in founding of Plant-foods Sweden, UK Alliance for Plant-based Foods and the pan-European initiative European Alliance for Plant-based Foods (EAPF).
